Space Gator Live (excerpt)

Space Gator is a mix of electronic music and Zydeco, featuring accordion samples from Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes and multiple synthesizers. It was inspired by Monica Rambeau, a Marvel super hero who's from New Orleans. She frequently is involved with intergalactic missions, so I started to call her "Space Gator." The piece explores what those kinds of space travels would sound like.

Trumpet + synths - LaTasha Bundy

Chamber Orchestra - Louisiana Philharmonic

Meow Drive (Live)

In 2021, I had a premiere at Lincoln Center, was commissioned to write a piece for Piano Spheres, and was hired to compose for a musical. All great achievements, but they all pale in comparison to playing this at my first live set.

Cat piano and Moog Sirin - LaTasha Bundy

Capybara Blüg

A piece about the liberation of Capybaras. This was a commission from Piano Spheres 2021 played at Disney Hall adjacent (lol) Thayer Hall.

Piano - Paul Cornish

Something Something Space

This piece was premiered at Lincoln Center’s Our Time is Now and was commissioned by the Arco Collaborative. Something Something Space was inspired by synthesizers and drum machines.

Violin - Jennifer Koh

Starts at 11:17 and ends at 12:40.

How Wild Would it Be if…

A piece in three movements inspired by the history of New Orleans:

  • Duality

  • A Second Line in Fugal New Orleans

  • Space Gator (feat. Bruce “Sunpie” Barnes)

An Optical Poem (rescored)

This is a portion of An Optical Poem by Oskar Fischinger that I scored for class. This is where my love of using Spitfire's British Drama Toolkit comes from. Some of the elements of this thing are weird, but that's because it was an assignment. (but also, I am strange)
